Since 2022 we have the great honour to host events at Anima Animation film festival at Flagey, Brussels. This year you can find us at Le Marni, with a bigger exhibition and another Drink & Draw dedicated to animation wednesday 5th of March. Looking forward to meet you again.

Animation and illustration are intrinsically linked through their shared emphasis on visual storytelling. Whether through hand-drawn or digital techniques, both mediums rely on the artist's ability to convey emotion, narrative, and atmosphere. Many animators begin their creative process with sketches and concept art, using illustration as a foundation for bringing characters and worlds to life. Similarly, illustrators often draw inspiration from animated films, exploring new techniques and styles to expand their artistic repertoire.
Printed stills from animation movies serve as snapshots of creativity frozen in time. Each frame represents countless hours of meticulous planning, drawing, and animation, capturing the essence of storytelling and artistic expression. Preserving these moments allows viewers to appreciate the intricate details and craftsmanship behind every scene.

The concept is simple: draw together over a drink! Whether you’re a casual doodler, an enthusiast, or a curious beginner, Drink & Draw celebrates artistic diversity in a relaxed atmosphere.

For this special edition, Grafik will guide you in creating short analog animations that will be transformed into GIFs to share with your friends. This year, we’re also providing templates to draw on! Join us at the beautiful Theatre Marni Bar for a Drink & Draw inspired by the festival’s theme: “The Dream”.
